4 Year Old Kindergarten

Our four-year-old Kinder program has been is developed using careful observations of the individual strengths, needs and interests of each child. It is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework which focuses on 5 key learning outcomes:  

Identity, Community, Wellbeing, Learning and Communication.

The educators at Aspendale Gardens Kindergarten believe learning and development is stimulated through play-based learning experiences. This is supported through intentional teaching,spontaneous teaching moments and child-initiated activities. The children are encouraged to explore their environment, both constructed and natural.

During the year there are a number of special activities and excursions that aim to provoke and inspire further learning, for example:  

• Melbourne Museum (dinosaur bones),  

• Pet Awareness / living safely with dogs,  

•  Dentist visit  

• Library visit 

• CFA visit 

• Road safety and bike education 

• Excursions include: regular walk days to the local wetlands, visits to Aspendale Gardens Primary School and Aspendale Gardens Shopping Centre.

The four year old kinder is in our Blue Gum Room, the building closest to Kearney Drive.
